Researcher Profile:

Yi Hong, PhD, is an Assistant Research Scientist working in the Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research (CIGLR). His research aims to (1) improve understanding of hydrologic process across urban, watershed, and coastal scales; (2) promote modeling approaches to assess and mitigate hazard risks related to extreme events and anthropological activities; and (3) enhance integrated modeling to describe interactions between hydrologic and social systems under climate change.

Education:
    • Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, France (2017)
    • M.S. in Biostatistics and modelling, University of Toulouse, France (2012)
    • B.S. in Environmental Science, Wuhan University, China (2009)
Research Interest/Area of Expertise:
    • Sustainable water management
    • Hydrologic/hydrodynamic modeling cross scales
    • Hydro-climatic interactions
