Profile:

Shay Keretz, PhD, is a CIGLR postdoctoral research fellow working with Casey Godwin, PhD, and the GLERL Ecosystems Dynamics Team on dynamic energy budget (DEB) modeling of invasive dreissenid mussels (Zebra and Quagga Mussels) in order to further our understanding of dreissenid individual and population dynamics in the Great Lakes. The dreissenid DEB model will eventually be incorporated into additional research investigating dreissenid impacts on their surrounding environment. Prior to working with CIGLR and NOAA GLERL, Shay focused on modeling dreissenid and unionid (native mussel) habitat in both the Detroit and St. Clair rivers of the Great Lakes.

Education:
  • Ph.D., Central Michigan University, 2023
