About the presentation: TBA
About the speaker: Dr. Paul C. Hanson is an ecosystems ecologist focusing on the influence of climate change, land use, and human activity on the quality of inland waters. Dr. Hanson uses team science in tackling problems and leads interdisciplinary collaborations spanning multiple institutions and countries. As a co-developer of the GLEON Fellows Program, Dr. Hanson has trained 5 cohorts of graduate students in team science and the application of big data for studying lake ecosystems. Through collaborations with computer scientists and engineers, hydrologists, landscape ecologists, economists, atmospheric scientists, experts in remote sensing, and experts in “the science of team science,” Dr. Hanson has fostered innovation and growth at the seams of disciplines. His most recent projects apply ecology-knowledge guided machine learning (Eco KGML) as a framework for fusing deep learning techniques and process-based models to better understand and predict lake water quality dynamics.
**Registration is not required**
