Event flyer

Bio: Quinton Phelps is a fisheries research scientist for the Long-Term-Resource-Monitoring Program at the Big Rivers and Wetlands Field Station along the banks of the Mississippi River in Jackson, Missouri. In addition, Quinton serves as an adjunct professor that contributes to teaching and mentoring at Southeast Missouri State University. The focal point of his research uses both basic and applied techniques to answer important large river ecological questions. His research merges fisheries fundamentals across disciplines (e.g., management, ecology, and biostatistics) to thoroughly understand riverscape dynamics on broad spatiotemporal scales that are directly applicable to fisheries management. Given his broad background, inquisitive nature and the desire to maintain contemporary science, Quinton has developed many research interests in the big river – particularly those involving carp.
