Melissa Mattwig is working with Dmitry Beletsky, PhD, David Cannon, PhD, and the Lake Ontario Bilateral Infrastructure Project team to assist with spatial analysis. She recently graduated with a Master’s in Geospatial Data Science from the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability where she completed a thesis project with CIGLR’s Casey Godwin, PhD. Growing up near Lake Erie, Melissa has always had an interest in Great Lakes research. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Biology and Environmental Science from Allegheny College, she lived in Tanzania for 3 years as a Boren Scholar then as a Peace Corps volunteer to learn Swahili and more about the East African Great Lakes.
