Nhung Nguyen (she/her) is working with Dr. Casey Godwin, Ashley Burtner, and other members of CIGLR’s Harmful Algal Bloom research team to study the freshwater ecology of the Great Lakes. Nhung’s work at CIGLR focuses on carbon cycling, where she conducts laboratory analyses of inorganic and organic carbon in relation to harmful algal blooms. Previously, Nhung has studied the aquatic biology and hydrogeochemistry of the Finger Lakes in upstate New York, and is excited to now be part of the research efforts in the Great Lakes! She is passionate about equitable and sustainable access to clean and safe water for all people around the world.
