Profile:

Alain Isabwe is a postdoctoral research fellow working with CIGLR and the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. He is interested in understanding how global warming and land cover change affect freshwater algae at different spatio-temporal scales. His current project aims at applying statistical models to improve our ability to predict algal bloom development in the Great Lakes.

Education:
  • Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2019
  • M.Sc. in Natural Science, Xiamen University, 2014
  • B.Sc. in Biology with Education, Kigali Institute of Education, 2010
Research Interest/Area of Expertise:
  • Ecological data analysis and modeling
  • Microbial community ecology
  • Environmental metagenomics
  • Anthropogenic impacts on freshwaters
