Dr. Benjamin Kramer recently joined CIGLR as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Assistant Professor Dr. Cody Sheik (University of Minnesota Duluth) and Research Ecologist Dr. Reagan Errera (NOAA GLERL). Their research focuses on the effects of climate change and eutrophication on cyanobacterial diazotrophs in the Great Lakes, particularly with respect to N2-fixation, toxin production, as well as changes community composition and gene expression. Dr. Kramer’s previous work includes observing the effects of fixed nitrogen enrichment, CO2, and temperature on the toxin production, N2-fixation, and growth of Nostocales strains and populations.
